UNESCO introduced first global study on CCI

UNESCO and International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) whose chairman is the world known musician Jean-Michel Jarre published first global study on the contribution of cultural and creative industries to global economy. The study emphasis as well that cultural and creative content drives the digital economy.

Importance of cultural and creative industries was commented by UNESCO Director General Ms. Irina Bokova, when she stated: "Cultural and creative industries are major drivers of the economies of developed as well as developing countries. Indeed, they are among the most rapidly growing sectors worldwide. It influences income generation, job creation, and export earnings. It can forge a better future for many countries around the globe."
